I began studying Martial Arts in 1976 - practicing Kickboxing - sparring 10 rounds 3-4 x per week while studying the techniques in Kata . Finally, in 1985 we discovered the Energy Channels and the intrinsic application of strikes and joint locks in various pressure points to quickly end a fight. I am currently an 8th Dan in Ryukyu Kempo and highly proficient in Small Circle Jujitsu. I have been teaching various Martial Arts since around 1979. My world opened up and changed immensely when I began studying Qigong with Michael Lomax. The field of Energetics in Stillness-Movement seems to be constantly changing and getting bigger, and bigger, and - well you get the point. From the very beginning (somewhere around the year 2000) I have embraced this system of energetics having taken an all in approach to practicing daily for many hours and becoming the best I can be with Clinical Qigong and the Taoist Neuro-Energetic technique. Michael said -“Dr. Graef mentioned a person needs to work on 1,000 spines to begin to understand Taoist Technique and to begin to work towards mastering the technique”. I took this info to heart and worked on 5 people the first night this was taught to me. One of the 5 was a dog - he saw what I was doing and decided he wanted some of that. Since then I’ve worked in well over 1,000 spines including working on Horses, Dogs, Cats, and of course Humans. I find animals are very appreciative of the work whereas sometimes humans want to hold onto their issues and are actually upset that you’ve taken away their pain or whatever issue they may have. But, I’ll continue to do my best to constantly improve and help those that raise their hand (or paw or hoof) and ask for help. Movements come naturally to me and I very much enjoy helping others to learn this fascinating Art. I have over 40 years of experience teaching others movements. Plus, I do my best to help educate people in Qigong and promote this gem of a system . I’m thankful that Michael has recognized the Time and Effort input in and he refers to me as his Senior Student and a Master Practitioner. I invite anyone with questions on the system to email me (brionbeller2@gmail.com) and I’ll do my best to answer any question you may have as well as help you understand the movements or methods to “Still” your mind so you can get the most out of your meditation practice. If you’re interested in learning about the lineage then please visit my website: Spiritslightqigong.com for a brief look into those that were very influential with their contributions to what we know as Stillness-Movement. Some of these individuals suffered immensely and even lost their lives for teaching Qigong in China. We can honor them by making certain this Gem we call Stillness-Movement does not die out.
